Student learning outcomes are one of the important indicators in assessing the success of the learning process.
However, in reality, there are still many students who have not achieved the Minimum Passing Grade (KKM), so
improvements in learning strategies are needed. This research is a type of research using the action research
method with 30 students in class VII-D at SMPN 25 Malang as the subjects. The aim is to improve student learning
motivation and learning outcomes through the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach.
This classroom action research (CAR) consisted of two cycles with four stages, namely action planning, action
implementation, observation, and reflection. The results of the study show that there was an increase in student
learning motivation and learning outcomes in class VII-D, as evidenced by the results of data analysis in the
cognitive aspect in the pre-cycle, which obtained a mastery rate of 24%, increased in cycle 1 to 46.7%, and
increased again in cycle 2 to 80%. This shows that in addition to student learning outcomes, their learning
motivation also increased, as indicated by the students' activeness and enthusiasm during lessons.
